The description for the TP63A states a range for the remote as 500 feet, but the specification for the device states a range for the remote is up to 200 feet. Which is correct? Thanks

Hello,
Our TP63A has a 200ft range, whereas our TP63B has a 500ft range.
There may be a mixup or mistake on the listing currently.

Easy to read, seems accurate enough compared to two other independent sources. Maybe not “scientific” accurate, but close enough for my needs. I love how easy it is to pair the individual transmitters. And I love that it has the option to scroll through the two that I have without me having to remove the base unit from the wall and select a different channel. I have on transmitter outside on a pillar under roof, and anther in a wine room in the garage. I thought the later might be a challenge because of obstacles and three walls, but no issue whatsoever. I can’t speak to battery life. I hope I don’t have to charge transmitters more than a few times a year, but we shall see.

I was impressed with how well this little champ stays connected with the remote sensor all the way through my stucco walls. The sensor is about 50′ away in the arroyo behind our casa. I still give it 5 stars, because I am generally so happy with it. The only negative is that it can be hard to read in low-light from across the room. It does have a back-light feature, but as best I can figure – you have to touch the little light button at the bottom of the unit to ignite the back-light and it turns itself off after a minute or so.
Also of interest to some people: the indoor unit utilizes batteries. The outdoor sensor has a rechargeable lithium battery and requires a charge inside, while plugged into a standard phone charger with the included USB cable. Moral of this story: place the outdoor sensor in a spot it is relatively easy to retrieve for your periodic recharging efforts. It’s been running for several days now with no problems. It will be interesting to see how many weeks/ months I manage to get before I have to bring it in for a re-charge.

Decided to try a wireless solution for monitoring the outside temperature as a replacement for our analog “dial” thermometer. Outdoor dial thermometers do not stand up to the very high summer temperatures. Indeed, ours literally melted in the hot afternoon sun. In addition, condensation on the dial face can obscure the numbers on the dial. The ThermoPro 63a provides the exact functionality I was looking for. My one suggestion is to add velcro to the remote sensor to help affix the sensor to the outdoor surface. See photos. The temperature and humidity readings are easy to read. The orange backlight helps improve readability. I have only had the unit for one week but have been happy to this point. The remote sensor does need to be charged before providing accurate readings. The instructions are useful and the set up takes only a few minutes. Although I have only had this product for a short while, I do recommend it as an alternative to outdoor temperature dials.

I guess my first review did not make the grade. I would buy one that does not need to be recharged and uses batteries instead of this one next time. Since I already own this one it is very accurate as to temp and humidity readings. It does have to be reset everyday if you are keeping records and also you will have to select either 24 hour period or all time max and min. They must be reselected every day. “ouch” It is a nice looking meter with a backlight that comes on if you touch it In the right spot which makes reading it easier. Overall it is a very good meter. I just think it could have been made a little easier to use.

So I ordered this for my husband. Well the first one we received did work…..for about 2 weeks. I recharged it and it lasted a week. With the return date approaching I call Amazon who sent another. So far so good. Now my observation is that these third party sellers just buy things and then sell them. I suspect that the recharageable battery in the first one was no good. Probably old. The first one took around 5 hours to charge and the second one charged in about an hour. I did notice that the original stickers for quality control had been covered with a new one. On the second one that was not the case. ThermoPro is a good product line but when these third party sellers buy and sell their products not knowing if what they have is old, used, whatever it gives the company bad name. So I’d say try it but at the first hint of problems call and get a replacement.

Very reasonable price. I bought this to have a monitor for outside temp from inside after wife accidentally broke the thermometer hanger on the porch. I was impressed enough with the performance of the first unit, I bought two more of the sensor units. The display alternates the ‘Out’ reading on the top of the display between three possible units. If you just have one, it stays on that reading, but if you have two, the display will cycle between all three, leaving the third sensor (if not there) reading blank lines. I found it annoying enough to buy a third one to fill that spot in the display cycle with a separate garage reading. These devices are each about a degree apart in the same location and the humidity reading as much as 4% different in same location, but they are close enough for my use purposes. The display is very easy to read from several feet away with bad eyes, the screen has a light button at the bottom that is very useful at night, and I am over a week on the first charge of the outdoor sensor.

Hi. Just got it and I am charging the sensor. Sensor and unit are in the same space as you can see. At first there was a wide variance in the data, as some reviews have commented on. But in leaving them alone for over an hour the data between devices stabilized and is very close, as you can see. Plenty good enough for my needs. Size is relatively compact, but text is large, both a plus for me. I own a similar different brand without a backlight, which is the main reason I purchased this. But this is much easier to read, even without the backlight, than my other brand. So far I’m happy. My only concern is the rechargeable sensor, honestly I would prefer batteries. But who knows it may hold a charge a long time. I will try to modify this post if something bothers me in the reasonable future. Otherwise all is good.

I have the remote sensor on the side of the building under a deck, and the monitor unit on my fridge – I used to put a previous one on a shelf above the remote because it didn’t like the further distance, but this one allowed me to use the magnet feature and go to the fridge. The new one’s easy to read and light up, and gives humidity as well as temperature inside and out. The only problem is the manual, and I had to get replacement remotes twice (free) and a replacement whole unit once (because I forgot where I’d bought the first) before I made it work. The manual tells you how to install it, and later tells you to fully charge the remote first. I didn’t read that far, and the first remote died in about 15 months, and couldn’t be re-charged. When I bought a new one, I found that section of the manual and couldn’t find a picture or description of how to get the included charger cord attached to the the remote. There is a shaped rubber pad on top of the insert chamber, which has a metal strip in it that bounced out as I pried the pad off. What I should have done was simply lift up the part of the pad that covered the chamber, and inserted the cord directly. When I pulled off the whole thing, there was no way to get the metal strip back in place and the cord to stay in. I have asked that they give clearer directions – and before they say how to set up the whole installation. The thermometer itself is tterrific.

The real test will come in winter. We do get temperature’s that are +/- 2 of – 30oC. That will be the acid test. Also this lost 1 star because at – 30 I may have to go out and provide a charge for the transmitter. It comes with a USB chord for charging. I’m just not sure it will last until next spring before needing said charge.

I purchased this as a replacement to looking at my phone on the weather app and i’m a very pleased. At a glance i know whether it’s hot and humid or dry or cold. I’m most impressed by the reliability. I’ve owned cheap wireless thermometers in the past and i did not like the experience. So far so good with this unit.
Outside emitter is rechargeable, which seems odd at first but i’ll have to see how reliable that is in the future. It’s only mounted using a screw or nail head. I used weather resistant 3M double sided tape to stick it outside a window because i live at the 4th floor. Make sure to keep the USB cable in a safe place because it is not universal.
The display feature a large magnet and a screw hook for easy placement and it uses alkaline batteries. The rear button let you see 24h min/max as well as all-time min/max. There is a reset button for that also.

Matches traditional outdoor circular thermometers, close enough. Winter will be the test.
After 50 years of reading the old mercury ( ? ) indoor outdoor thermometer, it is Fun to know the humidity and changing weather.

UPDATE : Jan 27. 2020 Working very well. Have not had to charge outside or replace indoor batteries.
Shelter working well, back yard ( nyc ) gets no sun from Dec to Feb; outdoor sensor has not seen sun since Sept, yet staying dry. Reading close to old vertical thermometer and modern digital devices. We are Pleased. Bought second for cold closed room and basement.

I got this so I would know the humidity outside as well as in, because I have a heart condition that makes humidity above 70 percent with temp above 70 degrees dangerous. The hygrometer I already have inside the house is not in exact agreement, but that is the case with all of these instruments. There isn’t much variance, and the Thermopro, being the more sophisticated, is what I defer to. No more having to get online and check the humidity. Since August of ’19 I’ve only had to recharge the transmitter’s battery once, at the end of January. I’ve not had to replace the batteries in the receiver yet, As of May 31. The display can be difficult to read at an angle. No big deal.

I purchased this as a replacement for a wireless thermometer that was only working intermittently.
After getting this new thermometer set up I wished I had bought it sooner! Even though it is smaller overall than my old one, it is much easier to read. I see other comments about the readings being a few degrees ‘off’. Well, all I am interested in is seeing that this morning I see 65 degrees when yesterday morning was 75 degrees. Although the description on AMAZON says ‘waterproof’ I installed my remote sensor on my detached garage where it is mostly protected from rain and the distance from my house was no problem.

The supplied remote sensor pairs up quickly, and both reading are easy to read on the display. I ordered an additional sensor, a TX-4, which I returned because I thought it was faulty, but the replacement also failed to sync with the main unit. I am returning the second TX-4 and have ordered a TX-2 in hopes that this will work. The TX-4 was labled as 433 Mhz while the sensor supplied with the base unit was labeled as 915 Mhz, I didn’t notice this right away and am hoping that was the reason I had trouble pairing the extra sensor. If that’s not it then I think I have a faulty main unit. Other than that the thermometer has worked well.

‘Let the good temps roll!’ Got this to monitor outside temps while wintering in our trailer, and while it took a bit to get working [had to do the setup / sync routine twice] once it started working ShaZam! it’s doing the job & a great little addition to our tech gear. Checked against 2nd T-stat and readings are accurate, and love the humididiadidity feature, too! Humidity is a definite no bueno when it comes to camping in ‘The Hab,’ our wheeled pavilion, and we use our trusty ThermaPro to monitor and use the vent fans to control it. That combo let’s us vent excess humidity and we’ve had it at 20% when outside it’s plus 60. Great device!

I purchased this to replace another that failed within days of purchase. Which had been to replace another identical one that had also failed. So time to try a new manufacturer, and this one has been great. Accurate, and fast, it gauges the temperature fast enough that I can take it from room to room in my home to check the temperature, accurately, in other spaces.
I live in the cold Adirondacks of New York, and an accurate outdoor, and indoor, temperature helps me to know how to dress, when to turn the heat higher, or lower. The dial outdoor thermometer I purchased is only accurate to within 10 – 15 degrees….that’s not helpful.
I like this one, a great deal.
My only complaint is that the ‘minus’ sign is so far over to the left, and so small, that I often don’t notice it.

I only received mine yesterday, 2-28-20, and after deciphering the instructions, which are somewhat confusing, I charged the remote unit, installed the 2 batteries in the base unit and placed both side-by-side on the kitchen counter to compare temps. After several hours, they came close to matching. They never deviated from each other more than .9 degrees and finally settled down to within .2 degree from each other after ~24 hours. As an old friend used to put it: It’s good enough for who it’s for! If you need more than accuracy to within less than a half a degree, you may be disappointed!
Outside temps were my main concern, so I’ll install the remote in the shade on my front porch not exposed to the rain using the handy slot for the head of a screw on the back. I have no idea on battery life yet and will get back later if that is a problem. I plan to use rechargeable AAA batteries in the base unit so battery cost is a non starter for me since I have them on hand for use in other items along with the necessary charger.

DUH! I’m really glad I did not toss the charging cord for the outdoor wireless component! It is something I would do!
It comes with a cable that charges it either plugged into the computer, or any one of those device charging socket plugs. After putting fresh batteries into the indoor temp reader…It still wasn’t working, so I decided the outdoor monitor must need new ones. I could not see how to disassemble the back of it without ruining it! I went online to the manufacturer and realized it has rechargeable batteries. I’m really glad I found that cable in with other misc. cables I have stashed away!! Charged it and just pushed a button on the back and reading accurately like a champ. I know I’ve dumbed down over time…but pulled this one off!!!

When I originally set it up I checked the unit against it’s self. I found that it initially took a significant amount of time for it to calabrate itself and thought I may have a defective unit. However, after several hours indoors it completely stabilized with perfectly matched readings.
I then placed the outdoor sensor and after an hour or so it too completely stabilized and it’s been working perfectly for over a month now. I have another indoor outdoor thermometer and the two read within a tenth or two of a degree. The indoor and outdoor humidity readings, particularly here in southwest Florida, are great to have at a glance. The unit is compact but VERY EASY to read. I also like that the outdoor readings are above the indoor since that’s what I’m most interested in seeing.

I just received this device and started using it a few days ago, so I cannot opine on the longer term reliability.
I am about to buy another sensor so I can have a few points of measurement. I am using this device to monitor the temp and humidity of our conditioned crawl space of our house. So far I have the first sensor located in the farthest spot in the crawl space from the display (2500 sq ft crawl space) and everything seems to be working communications wise.
When I received the unit, I charged the sensor and powered it on to sit right next to the display to see if there was any difference between what the display was recording and the sensor. It appears the remote sensor reports a few degrees F higher than the display pretty consistently. The RH was within 1% most of the time and I suspect the difference in reported RH was likely due to the temperature reporting error of the remote sensor (the display unit jives exactly with our Honeywell home thermostat in the interior living space for both Temp and RH).
I will update my impressions after I have had some time to gauge it’s longer term reliability, but for now, this device seems to be the answer to my needs of monitoring ambient condition in my crawl space (critical to us as we had some mold issues early on until we got out conditioned crawl space systems dialed).
Update to above review:
I ordered two more TX4 sensors, so I could have a total of three monitoring our crawl space temp and humidity. The two new sensors report temps and humidity almost identical to the display unit (< 1 degree temp and never more than 1% humidity difference to our Honeywell home thermostat). Very pleased so far with this product.

This is a really nice indoor-outdoor remote thermometer. I have been wanting one for years, but never have gotten around to buying one. I looked at many and decided to bite the bullet with this unit. For the price, how could a person go wrong. It works as advertised. I am not computer literate, so I was a bit tentative; however, I followed directions, and it works great. The yellow backing light works great. I have not found one wrong thing with it, and compared to my old-fashioned thermometer, it is very accurate. I am 100&% satisfied; however, I have only had this unit for 1 month.

I was somewhat dismayed upon opening the cartons, inserting the batteries, and comparing the indoor and outdoor readings when the remote was sitting next to the monitor. They did not match. In fact, they were several degrees & % off. However, when I gave it time to stabilize they became pretty close; tenths off. After reading an e-mail from Mark, Therm Pro’s Director of Customer Service, stated that the accuracy range can be -2 %/degrees vs. other devices -5 %/degrees, I felt better. Perhaps that type of statement should be included in the warranty statement in the box. Before writing this review, I brought the units together again, let them stabilize, and they were about 4 tenths different in temperature and right on in humidity. It has been 3 days in operation. Hopefully, it will last the 3 years of warranty.

We have been using this unit for over a year now, and it has been quite reliable. I like large, easy-to-read display, and the magnetic backplate. I made a 3d-printed “hat” for the remote unit and hung it in a tree in our backyard so it would not be in direct sunlight or close enough to our house to be influenced by the temperature of the house. The remote unit operates for several months on a charge. I bought some 450mah rechargeable AAA cells for the indoor unit – they operate for about 6 weeks on a charge. You could buy 800mah batteries for longer times.

Does what it’s designed to do. Side by side comparison with another brand confirms that it is accurate.

Easy to use. Love it. I have a big home with this I can get different temps around my home. Every time I checked with our local temperature it’s accurate.

It took me a few minutes to set up, but it’s been working great since. I’ve had the thermometer up and the sensor outside for about 2 weeks now and no problems. Very accurate and helpful for deciding what to wear in the morning.

This is better than the Goldenrod branded one I had. I have the sensor in my gun safe and it makes it easy to monitor the interior condition of my safe.

Super easy to read. It only lights when you touch it and stays on for just a few seconds. Very happy with it. Temperature is displayed in 10ths…77.3.

As the headline says this works great. Just keep in mind that your temp reading is hardly ever going to match what you see in your local news broadcast. Temperatures varied a lot by the topography of the land where you live vs what the TV stations use as their reading. I would recommend this product

I bought this to monitor the temperature in my home office (I have a large aquarium and I need to keep the temperature within a certain tolerance range). Knowing what the temp is inside versus outside helps me maintain my separate A/C unit at it’s most effecient level, even when it is over 40 degrees F hotter outside than inside! (I live in Phoenix, AZ, where the temps are beginninge to hit over 100 degrees, and I keep the office at 65 degrees F).
I have ZERO complaints!

Replaced a previous model that finally quit working. So far quite pleased. Note: some complaints were about inaccuracies when set together when new. Left them together for about a day and they were fine after that. Like it.

Order the first one two years ago and it worked great, but the outdoor lithium battery would not take a charge. I liked the amber backlit display so much, I bought another. We’ll see how it goes.

Purchased a ThermoPro and a different brand two years ago to monitor temperature and humidity. The other brand always dropped-out and finally failed.
Purchased a second ThermoPro to replace to other brand and expect this new ThermoPro to perform well and last for ever.

– Be careful, you can’t actually find any additional transmitters for this model, the TX-4B. Might just be out of stock?
– Reached out to the manufacturer, and they don’t even get back to you – via email. Phone support was excellent!
Fairly nice thermometer, easy to read, wireless pairing was very easy.
Updated review after getting a different customer service response.

Tried regular pool temp sending units. lasted a week. This is the good stuff. 3 frequencies. 500 feet. rechargeable batts. great display unit. great design. I put it in 2 jars, sealed and weighted one.

The installation and operation manual is terrible. I started disassembling the base station to install the batteries. The manual is 2 x 2 inches in a microspec font and has a figure of the base station and a figure of the transmitter. A couple more figures, 4 x 4 inch paper, and 8 point font would be much better.

This seems to be a good, easy to use product. It may deserve 5 stars, but I haven’t had it long enough to see how well it will last/perform. I like the magnet on the back of the display unit, it’s an easy way to mount the display without putting another hole in the wall.

I was concerned that the battery would not last and it would need changing weekly; we’re going on around two months and no problems at all. Really like the historical information that is available. We use this with our RV and it has done a great job giving information while in storage, while monitoring the temperature inside our refrigerator when needed with the remote device, and then when we’ve placed the remote device near our propane tank to get an outside temperature when at camp sites. Very happy with the product.

This is exactly what we were looking for. Easy to read and, near as I can tell, accurate (although I think reading the temperature to one decimal point is a reach). Both the display and transmitter can be hung on a vertical surface, but to do this for the transmitter requires a #4 screw. The display needs a #6 screw but comes with a handy kick stand.

Well made. Large and easy to read display. The outdoor remote unit is out in the woods behind our home and the transition has been great for the outdoor temp. The only issue is the remote is ‘water resistant,’ and it seems an outdoor unit should be “Water Proof.” If it holds up it is deserving of the 5 Star rating…

Well constructed product with easy instructions. However, one flaw in instructions: it refers to the RF Indicator at the start of the instructions. There is no RF Indicator identified in the detailed graphic . I discovered it by accident and was able to get the remote unit operating. Once operating, it performs beautifully.

This thermometer was easy to set-up. All that was required was to charge up the remote sensor and put the new batteries supplied with the unit into the base station. Once powered up is synched immediately and after placing the remote outdoors it took a few hours to adjust to current temperatures. The only question left is battery usage. I am a satisfied customer ThermPro products.

I AM USING THIS TO CHECK THE TEMPERATURE IN MY ATTIC AREA AFTER HAVING INSTALLED AN EXTRACTOR FAN TO KEEP IT AT UNDER 90 DEG. SO FAR APPEARS TO WORK WELL, THE INITIAL CHARGE OF THE REMOTE UNIT IS STILL GOOD AFTER 4 WEEKS, I AM HOPING IT WILL LAST FOR 12 WEEKS, WE SHALL SEE. NO PROBLEMS WITH SET UP AND SYNCHRONISING. THE BASE STATION DISPLAY IS EASY TO READ AND WILL SHOW ME WHEN THE REMOTE NEEDS TO BE RECHARGED.

I live on the Olympic Peninsula in the PNW, where weather changes by the minute and the temperature fluctuates day to day. The outdoor sensor has survived a winter’s worth of snow, rain, strong wind, and hail (it is on a north wall under a shallow eave). Love being able to track at a glance the outdoor temp and humidity while simultaneously comparing it to indoor conditions.

So far this is working as it says on the tin. I am experimenting with outdoor sensor placement and it seems that both direct sunlight and a shady spot are both somewhat less accurate during the daytime. I’m hoping to find a happy medium where I get accurate reading throughout the day. But after the sun crosses over to the west (my place faces east), the reading gets very accurate, at least according to my app and the weather channel site. One note: It hasn’t rained here since I’ve had it. The sensors are at the bottom facing down, and I intend to keep the thing from taking direct water during rains and storms.

The device is easy to set up and easy to read. The pictures show it with the backlight on, but quite good without that on, so one can save a little battery life. Battery life rating is so far, so good, still new. Nice that the outside unit can be plugged into a USB line – too bad they did not do that with the interior unit. Very nice that the interior unit has a magnet and can be place on a fridge or stove wall. The reading on the device closely matched those of the older unit that can now be used elsewhere.

Instructions are poor. No instructions on how to get to the battery compartment of the main thermometer. The outdoor sensor needs to be recharged via USB. No indication of how often this need to be done.

Excellent. It hangs in my greenhouse 200′ from my house. The base reads it perfectly sitting in the house in a window. There is a garage between greenhouse and the house but isnt a problem. I am impressed and highly recommend it.
