After buying two differnt round metal food thermometers that were not living up to my expections. I could have purchsed this in the frist place and save money. It's perfect, works great and easy to use and read. It has Magnets on the back so you can place it on a metal surface in your kitchen to make at hand when you need it. I am so Happy with my purchase and have used it several time after purchasing recently. I am very careful when it comes to cooking and making what I eat safe. Nobody wants to get sick from under cooked food!
So far so good. Works as advertised. I went with this model for the brighter LED, and it reads in all sorts of bright light (my home has tons of windows). The magnet isn't so strong that it resists a tug, but it holds without gravity dragging it down. I will update if the readings stop being accurate or if I have any other issues with the product. I bought this based on my own research in the food thermometer market. I did not receive it as a gift. I am a person looking for value and bang for my buck. If this product does not provide both for me and my family I will let you know.

I bought this item to check the more problematic meats, like pork and chicken. I really wanted to use it for my Thanksgiving turkey but I didn't have it in time. This thermometer can accurately detect the temperature even in the air or even in between your fingertips and it is super fast as it is stated in the description. The body is somewhat plasticky but it is just a thermometer and it feels somewhat delicate but it is not a toy and should be used with care anyways. I really like the folding in feature of the probe into the body of the unit and it hangs on my fridge with the two magnets on the back, that are very strong. I would think that down the road that the only downfall will be its delicateness has it is made out of pretty thin plastic I would not recommend putting it in a drawer with a whole bunch of other items as it would probably scratch it up very easily.
