Replacement for a previous TP20
Simple design, the displays are a good size, the connectivity is fast and solid, the temps are accurate as verified by multiple independent electronic temp probes. Both screens of the device have a backlight on the two devices that remains on for about 15 seconds when activated. Ive used this thermometer setup many times and it works well. The two probes allow the user to measure two items being cooked or one item and the grill or over temperature. The research I did demonstrated that this setup is used by many pro BBQ cooks and chefs. I thought about the wireless probe models but that introduces connectivity and charging issues and higher replacement costs if you need a new probe or two and the initial cost is 4-5 times what this one cost me on sale. I am happy with this device. Hope that helps!
Got this for my dad for Fathers Day this year and he LOVES IT. he read tons of reviews from this smoker/traeger Facebook group and Reddit and says this is the best one out there for the price. I can vouch that this thing cooked some VERY tender, perfectly crisp, delicious Smokey brisket. He said the connection is awesome, he can check it from all the way back in his other garage. So far its durable, hes not rinsed or washed it as some reviews said it can be damaged with too much water so he is keeping it safe in a crown royal bag (lol). He said this thing is so accurate with the temperature that he learned his traeger was actually off by 7degrees! Anyways I do think he loves this more than his family but thats okay, BUY IT.
Thermometer was accurate and setup was easy. Nice to have the remote to walk around with. Use this for 2 beef tenderloin roasts in the oven.
