So easy to use

This was perfect for making fudge. So accurate and easy to use. Much better than the glass thermometer.

Great candy thermometer

I've been using the glass bulb metal thermometers for years to make candy and finally decided to step it up a little. The glass/metal thermometer work okay, but they can be hard to read and are not that accurate. This isn't a big deal with candy since you have some wiggle room but I also wanted something easier to read. I was deciding between two models, this one and a similar one, but went with the Thermopro because I like the tilting display and the higher range. And I know the brand name so it made it a little easier. If you're trying to decide, just get this one... And it's so much easier to use than the metal ones! Even stirring is easier because there's less thermometer in the pot... If you're a candy maker just do it...

Make it Last

Loving this thermometer so far. And just my two cents: LCD displays and heat dont mix well. From other thermometers Ive used, the displays tend to go completely black when they get very hot (which is usually when you need them most). This one allows you to position it in a way so the display unit is away from direct heat/steam (see photo). Yes, this means its slightly in the way when you need to stir, but it keeps the electronics cool, and Im sure will extend its life.

Perfect for Making my Fantasy fudge!

This was the perfect gift for making sure the many pounds of Christmas fudge were cooked to the right stage (soft-ball). I had used time and another method for determining when the sugar, butter, and evaporated milk was cooked enough and ready for the final ingredients. This candy thermometer took away the worry of not getting it just right. Thanks for making an excellent product.

Game changer

I make pickles using a pasteurization process in which you have to keep the water in the kettle between 180 and 185 degrees for 30 minutes. It is crucial to keep it in that temperature range. Too hot and the pickles are mushy. Not hot enough and they are not shelf safe. I use two probes when pasteurizing, and my old "stick" probe was too short so it sat too close to the water surface and would fog up where you could not read it. This unit is great with the extra long metal probe and the handy clip that attaches to the kettle. It has made pickle making a lot easier. I tested the temperature read out against my other two thermometers and it is pretty much spot on.
