Used first time on Thanksgiving turkey. Great to have actual turkey and oven temps while cooking. Turned out great. So nice to watch temperatures all during the cooking process. Also nice to see how the cooking continues after removal from the oven.
The temperature recording feature is neat and should help to perfect my cooking/smoking prowess for the future.

This thing is amazing. Literally the only downside is that it doesn’t last more than 12 hours on a single charge. This will make it tricky for briskets and pork butt. But don’t let that deter you! This thing is awesome. Ambient temp is within a few degrees of the wired one I was using. Internal temp is perfectly accurate compared to two others. This thing is great. Better range than my others as well.

I do own another popular Meat thermometer, Meater and easily this version out performs Meater in every aspect. Meater keep disconnect between the hub and my phone, even they are literally 5 ft apart. But no problem with the Thermspike; It connects to my phone even I was in the basement and the bbq is almost 80ft away.

Yes, the app is not as fancy as the Meater’s but if it could not stay connect with your phone, how good the app would do??

UPDATE: My Thempspike died ( did not stay connect) after about 20 use.. A quick email to the ThermoPro team and a replacement is at my door in next day. I cannot be more happier with their customer service. 5 Stars.

Despite some of the negative reviews, I ordered this because my built-in Wolf thermometer stopped working and I needed something FAST for Thanksgiving. I was happy to find that this worked very well. It was fairly easy to set up on my phone, and the temperature was accurate. I checked it with my manual meat thermometer to be sure, and the numbers matched up. My biggest complaint? It comes in this nice plastic case, but the case doesn’t accommodate the charging cord, which, to me, seems like a no brainer? Why not make a little compartment to store the charging cord??

I’ve had my TempSpike for a few months and performance was great, but recently it stopped connecting.

I called customer support from the link conveniently included in the app. Waited for less than a minute to get a technician on the phone. He walked me through a few basic troubleshooting steps, determined that the probe had gone bad and arranged for a replacement unit to be shipped at no cost.

While it is unfortunate that it stopped working so quickly (thats what warranties are for) the process of getting a live human being on the phone and getting the problem solved COULD NOT have been any easier!

Will absolutely buy from them again!!

The instructions say put the receiver close to the spike. I placed the receiver approximately 30ft?from the spike. This allowed me to Rome anywhere within my home. Great quality and features

Great for pork shoulder, brisket, burgers, chicken or steak. Found the temperature to be pretty accurate and enjoy the ease of cleaning without any chords. Bluetooth is strong and allows me to monitor from anywhere in the house.

Works well, just as described.

The Bluetooth distance makes this a much better thermometer then others on the market.

I have used this thermometer on about six long cooks in an offset smoker. So far it has worked exceptionally well. I verified the accuracy off the temperature using various calibrated thermometers and it was pretty much spot on the temperature. The range can vary depending on what is between you and the base. But I can normally get about 200 ft within the house. It has the convenience of an on board battery is rechargeable. The app is easy to navigate and intuitive to use. I got this on sale so it was definitely worth the price.

I had an issue with my first tempspike and contacted customers service. They were very helpful and shipped out a new one. It is great when a company stands behind their product without making you jump through hoops to file a warranty claim.

My husband is a grilling connoisseur and loves this thing. He uses it on the pellet grill and can smoke a large piece of meat and sleep without worry.
