- 2 lbs. Ground Chicken Thigh (dark meat)
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 3/4 tsp. Black Pepper
- 1/2 tsp. Garlic Powder
- 2 tsp. Dried Oregano
- 1/2 cup minced Red Onion
- 1/2 cup chopped Basil
- 4 grated cloves Garlic
- 8 Buns or Rolls
- 8-16 slices Tomato
- 8 oz. Mozzarella, cut into 8-16 slices
- Fresh Basil
- Balsamic Glaze (see ingredients and instructions below if you want to make your own)
- Your favorite Fries or Side Dish
Recipe Instructions
1
In a bowl, combine the chicken, salt, pepper, garlic, oregano, onion, and chopped basil.
2
Ground chicken can be fairly sticky, so we recommend using gloves or rubbing a little oil on your hands prior to mixing to prevent sticking.
3
Rub a small amount of oil on your hands and form the mixture into 6-8 burgers.
4
Preheat your grill to medium heat. Place the burgers on the grill and allow to grill for 2 minutes. Turn the burgers 90 degrees and grill for 2 minutes.
5
Always keep the lid covered when you’re not turning the burgers. Flip the burgers over and repeat on the other side.
6
Set your ThermoPro TP16 Leave-In Meat Thermometer to at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit and place the probe in the center of the largest burger. Cover your grill and grill until the internal temperature is reached.
7
Build your burgers by placing a burger on your bun, followed by 1-2 slices of cheese and 1-2 slices of tomato.
8
Place a few pieces of fresh basil on top and then drizzle a balsamic glaze over it. If you want to make your own glaze, heat ¼ cup of balsamic vinegar and 1-2 tablespoons of honey in a small saucepan over medium low heat. Allow it to simmer and reduce until a thick sauce forms that coats a spoon.
9
Serve your burgers with your favorite fries or side dish and enjoy.
