Recipe Preparation
  • 20 oz. Flank Steak
  • 1.5 Tbsp. Chili Powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp. Ground Coffee
  • 1 tsp. Ground Cumin
  • 1 tsp. Paprika
  • 1 tsp. Coconut Sugar (or Regular Sugar)
  • 1/2 tsp. Oregano
  • 3/4 tsp. Salt
  • 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil or Coconut Oil
  • Soft Corn Tortillas
  • Shredded Lettuce
  • Chopped Tomatoes
  • Chopped Red Onion
  • Cilantro
  • Avocado Slices
  • Lime Wedges
Step Description
1
Prepare the rub by mixing all dry ingredients in a bowl. Rub half onto one side of the flank steak, then flip and repeat on the other side. Press the edges of the steak into the rub until fully coated.
2
Refrigerate the rubbed steak for 2–3 hours. Before cooking, let it rest at room temperature for about 20 minutes.
3
Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. When hot, sear the steak for 1–2 minutes on each side depending on thickness.
4
Transfer the pan to the oven and cook until the steak reaches an internal temperature of 130–140°F, depending on desired doneness, using your ThermoPro TP01A Instant Read Meat Thermometer .
5
Slice and serve the steak on warmed corn tortillas. Add lettuce, tomato, onion, cilantro, avocado, and a squeeze of lime. Enjoy!
