I bought this for my new gun safe to keep an eye on the inside humidity level. It runs on 1 AAA battery (supplied) and has a kick stand and a magnet for mounting. I really like that it shows you the high and low for both the temp and humidity for the past 24 hours. I was so impressed with this I bought a second one a few weeks later to have on the counter. They do take a few hours to adjust to your surroundings,the temp and humidity levels were dead on. The high and low are off because they were set up at different times. If you want them to read the same just install the batteries at the same time and it'll reset the unit. I am very happy with these and would highly recommend them.
These read the same as my thermostat. The humidity reading is within one point of a stand-alone humidifier of known accuracy that I have on the lower floor of my home. The separate units also agree, which is more than other brands I have purchased in the past. At the price, that's good enough for me.
Just what I needed for the crawl space and the attic
I had purchased one of these like... YEARS ago to monitor humidity levels in a storage area. Recently decided to purchase 2 more to monitor humidity and temperature levels in different parts of my house and decided it would be a good idea to put them all side by side for a comparison. THE RESULTS: After only a few minutes they all synced up and displayed almost exactly the same values (1% on humidity and 0.2 degrees on temperature). That's pretty good actually! Color me impressed! I honestly didn't expect that for what these things cost. Needless to say, I'm very pleased with the quality of these :)
