TP49W 3-Packs Digital Indoor Thermometer Hygrometer

As soon as I receive the ThermPro , I put on the battery that came with it and after about 20 min or so all 4 of them are showing the same room temperature and humidity Perfect little thing every household should have 1 in every room;)

Having a hygrometer is important for maintaining a healthy living and/or working environment, for protecting the space itself (e.g., wooden floors, wooden surfaces, etc.), and in some cases, for protecting objects that are particularly sensitive to humidity levels (e.g., wooden musical instruments). In our case, we needed all three. After getting tired of dealing with an overpriced and completely inaccurate Extech thermometer-hygrometer (yes, one of those that theoretically can be calibrated with special salts that are equally expensive, which did not work in our case), we decided to try the inexpensive TP49 from ThermoPro. Given the very good price for buying three instead of one, we preferred the three-pack, which is also the easiest way to check their accuracy. Our reasoning was that if they show the same readings (within the manufacturer's deviation limits), it's almost certain that they are accurate, while if they show different readings, then you probably can't trust them. And bingo, when they are in the same room, they all give very similar readings, and so we have the accuracy we need (as much as is needed for normal household use, not laboratory-level accuracy for chemistry or manufacturing). By having three, we also have a very easy way to verify from time to time that they remain accurate. Another big plus: in the past, we needed warranty support from ThermoPro for a cooking thermometer that had a problem, and the handling and resolution of the issue were as good as it gets. For all the above reasons, I highly recommend the three-pack of TP49s, both for the thermometer function (which is the easy part) and for the much more technically demanding (see accuracy) hygrometer function.

Overall well worth the money. I just thought they would be a little bigger. Three pack comes with three batteries.

My husband loves that we can place these in different rooms and see the temperature and humidity so easily. And that they are powered by a AAA battery, rather than a tiny watch batter. We haven't use the magnetic backs yet as ours are sitting on dressers and tables, but it would be great on the outside of a fridge or freezer. I'm thinking of getting another set to cover other parts of the house and basement.

This was my first hygrometer (purchased to assess home humidity levels). I wanted to ensure the single unit I bought was accurate, so I also purchased this 2-pack for comparison. I placed all 3 units together in several different rooms with varying temperatures and humidity levels. Based on my (not-so-scientific) observations, I'd conclude that the units' measuremente are reliable (i.e., different units show similar readings). I don't know if the units are accurate per se (I don't have a professional hygrometer to use for comparison), but for my purposes their reliability is sufficient. A (back)light would be nice, but that's probably more than one could expect for around $7 each. I'd recommend and re-buy.
