This is the 1st Bluetooth remote thermometer I've owned and it worked flawlessly. Just be sure to charge it up heading into the cook. And it worked so well, my wife returned the basic meat probe thermometer she bought independently of my purchase of this item because this item was actually easier to use and got better results. She generally likes affordability and ease of use over my purchases but this is one she knew she was wrong on. This has a base unit that you charge using a USB C port. The base unit has a magnet in the back so you can place it on the fridge while you cook. Charging took me about 30 mins and that held for months. The base unit only has 2 buttons: Power on and a light. Two probes clip into the base unit and are charged by the base unit. They each have an enamel coated handle. Push one into the meat (I did a beef tenderloin for Christmas) and the base unit starts receiving temperature data right away. The app is easy to use too. There are settings for F or C and you can set desired temps and alarms in the app. The app also gives you some rules of thumb prompts so you know what types of meats, cooked to what temps equate to rare, medium, and well done. Very helpful. But you also don't need to use the app if you don't want to because the base unit displays all the vital temperature details. I think it would be a great tool for longer cooks and those holiday meals you only cook once a year. It works in the oven and on the grill. I recommend.

ThermoPro won points with me right off the bat by designing this to work without any sort of connected device if you'd like. They won major bonus points with me for having an app that doesn't make you need to create any sort of account. The app is simply clean and to the point. No recipe suggestions, no product placements, just pure function. You can enable data recording and view temperature graphs of previous and current sessions. You can also create custom profiles for specific temperatures you'd like to hit while cooking. I've actually been using this for baking breads and it's worked an absolute treat. It's freed me up to play around sizes and shapes I wouldn't usually mess with, as well as different types of flours that might have a hard time judging done-ness with. Since it's wireless it also means I can leave the oven closed and let the bread do its thing up until the moment it's fully cooked. Absolute game changer for me.
