Recipe Preparation
  • Untrimmed chicken wings
  • 1 Whole chicken
  • Buffalo sauce
  • Flour
  • Egg
  • Bread crumbs
  • Oil for frying
Step Description
1
Season the whole chicken with a rub of your choice. Using a ThermoPro TP960 TempSpike 500-ft Truly Wireless Meat Thermometer as your guide, cook the chicken until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
2
As it cooks, remove the drums from the chicken wing flats and carefully carve out the bones without puncturing the skin.
3
To make the buffalo sauce, combine hot sauce, melted butter, garlic, and onion powder in a pan at low heat and mix.
4
Shred the cooked chicken and combine with most of the buffalo sauce (set 1/2 cup of buffalo sauce aside for later). Then stuff into the deboned chicken wings.
5
Coat the wings in a breading mixture of flour, followed by egg, and then bread crumbs. Fry at 375°F (191°C) until the skin turns brown and crispy, or for about 3-4 minutes.
6
Coat the cooked buffalo wings in the extra buffalo sauce you put aside, and enjoy!
