HOW TO MAKE Cheddar Stuffed Bacon Burgers
Heat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Once hot, lay the bacon on a parchment-covered sheet pan in a single layer and bake for about 30 minutes, or just under your desired doneness. Allow the bacon to cool and roughly chop it.
While the bacon is cooking, prep the fries. Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin fries. Allow them to sit out for 10-15 minutes after cutting. Toss them in oil and salt and lay them on a parchment-covered sheet pan in a single layer.
Place the potatoes in the oven and bake for about 30-40 minutes, depending on their thickness. Flip them once during the cooking. Remove them from the oven and allow them to cool.
In a bowl, combine the bacon, ground beef, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Divide the burger mixture into 4 balls. Flatten one of the balls and place a piece of cheddar in the center. If you want cheese that is more melted and gooey inside, use chopped or shredded cheddar instead of a square of cheese.
Form the burger meat over the cheese so the cheese is fully inside of the burger.
Heat your grill to medium-high heat. Once hot, place the burgers on the grill. Grill for 2 minutes on each side.
Set your Thermopro thermometer to the ground beef setting and place the probe into the center of the thickest burger. Close the grill and reduce the heat to medium. Continue cooking the burgers until they reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees.
Assemble your burgers with your favorite fixings, like lettuce and tomato. Serve the burgers with homemade fries.
