Cheesy Chicken Tacos
INGREDIENTS
Ingredients for wet mix:
- ½ cup buttermilk
- 1 tbsp hot sauce
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Ingredients for dry mix:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1½ tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
Ingredients for taco sauce:
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp sour cream
- 1-2 tsp adobo seasoning
- Juice from half of a lime
HOW TO MAKE Cheesy Chicken Tacos
STEP 1:
Cut 1 large chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and add to a bowl with the ingredients for the wet mix. Mix well.
STEP 2:
Combine the ingredients for the taco sauce in a bowl and set aside.
STEP 3:
Coat chicken in the dry mix and fry in 350°F (177°C) oil until it has become golden brown. Use a ThermoPro TP19H Instant-Read Thermometer to check that the internal temperature of the chicken has reached 165°F (74°C) to make sure it is fully cooked.
STEP 4:
Add chicken and cheese to flour tortillas and cook on both sides.
