HOW TO MAKE Chicken Caprese Burgers
Step 1. In a bowl, combine the chicken, salt, pepper, garlic, oregano, onion, and chopped basil.
Step 2. Ground chicken can be fairly sticky, so we recommend using gloves or rubbing a little oil on your hands prior to mixing to prevent sticking.
Step 3. Rub a small amount of oil on your hands and form the mixture into 6-8 burgers.
Step 4. Preheat your grill to medium heat. Place the burgers on the grill and allow to grill for 2 minutes. Turn the burgers 90 degrees and grill for 2 minutes.
Step 5. Always keep the lid covered when you’re not turning the burgers. Flip the burgers over and repeat on the other side.
Step 6. Set your Thermopro thermometer to at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit and place the probe in the center of the largest burger. Cover your grill and grill until the internal temperature is reached.
Step 7. Build your burgers by placing a burger on your bun, followed by 1-2 slices of cheese and 1-2 slices of tomato.
Step 8. Place a few pieces of fresh basil on top and then drizzle a balsamic glaze over it. If you want to make your own glaze, heat ¼ cup of balsamic vinegar and 1-2 tablespoons of honey in a small saucepan over medium low heat. Allow it to simmer and reduce until a thick sauce forms that coats a spoon.
Step 9. Serve your burgers with your favorite fries or side dish and enjoy.
