Best specs for the ThermoPro lineup. I believe it to be their latest version. Easy to use. We should’ve done this years ago. Most of the time the meats cook faster than the recipes call for so you over cook things if you don’t use the thermometer even if your oven temperature is spot on. It is nice to use both the timer and the temperature for gauging things, and being able to have two probes helps sense two areas of one meat, or if we have an item in each of our two ovens. Our meals are fine restaurant quality now.Rib with TP826

We use this for our smoker. Works great. We are able to leave the probes in the smoker with the thermostat and walk around the house and yard with the remote. It’s very convenient. The thermostat is on point. This is a game changer for grilling.TP826 smoker

Such a nice convenience to not have to constantly monitor the temperature of turkey breasts while they are cooking. You can literally insert the probes and do other things while the meat cooks. I did change the smoker box out for a fresh one about half way through. I read over the directions but it’s simple enough that I could have used it without the directions I think.Turkey with TP826

I hated it at first when I couldn’t plug the probes fully into the remote unit, but after going to their website, the amended instructions say to FIRMLY push the probes into the unit until they snap into place. After doing that. it works wonderfully. I love it, and after using it several more times I ask myself how I ever got along without it. It’s amazing!TP20

  5. Curt Publow

I ordered it in January, so it will be a few months before I can use my new ThermoPro TP826 every week, but I did get to use it last week to cook some chicken thighs on the grill. It definitely reads a lot higher than the stock thermometer on my grill, but the chicken came out perfect, so I believe it. I can’t wait to use it on something a little more complicated and involved. My only reason for subtracting a star is that the probe length is kind of long (about 5″) so it uses up some of the limited space on my grill.TP826 unboxing

Save your time, I did all the research for you. There are so many of these out there but I spent hours on this, and this is the one to get. It is awesome!! Everything you would want in a wireless meat probe. Grilling and smoking will never be the same! Just buy it!TP826 brisket

  7. marcie

Prime Rib The probes make checking the temp very easy and accurate, especially since there are more than one probe and the can be inserted deep into the meat. Our Christmas prime rib turned out perfectly cooked!

  8. D. Miller

This is the 3rd version of this thermometer I’ve had, the last two of which have been test units. The first I bought on my own and enjoyed. It was fairly simple to use and basic. It worked well until I left the receiver out in the weather too many times. The 2nd generation, which I still have, is no good. It was really hard to adjust settings and temps for each probe. It only has a couple buttons and they required long pressing, etc for multi-functions. Really annoying and I don’t use it.This 3rd gen is more like the 1st, but refined and easier to set and use. I had no problem hitting a couple buttons and setting my custom temps for couple of pork butts. This unit isn’t super high tech….you’re not getting WiFi or Bluetooth or even 4 probes. It’s a simple 2-probe unit with a wireless monitor device that pretty much has a range the size of a normal house. It’s accurate and works well. I don’t need all the bells and whistles….they’re always inconsistent and if that Wifi connection fails, you’re meat is getting overcooked. Devices like this one never disconnect, as long as you’re in range. I suggest you set it up and start testing your range before actually cooking. This is a unit I will keep using (until I break it again, lol).Full Pork

Pros:1. Got this as a gift for my parents who recently purchased a Kamado style smoker / grill and they love it.2. Multiple lines in so you can monitor grill temp and food at same time.3. Easy to setup – parents had no problem setting both a grill temp and a finish temp for food.4. Very accurate and consistent on temperature.5. Seems very well made and durable.6. Buttons feel like they have quality components and work well.Cons:1. None – this thermometer is great.

  16. Dan

The second temp probe not only useful for ambient temperature, but for that second steak on the grill.

  17. Samuel Louis

It works very well. Easy to read too. My husband is very happy with this purchase.

  18. Brian B.

I had a cheaper version similar to this. Worked 3 times. Considering where it was made, I should be pleased it lasted that long. For a few more $…I now have a high quality unit for my smoked brisket and pork loin. Made right here in Georgia. Go Dawgs!!!

Seems to work well so far

I have been using instant read meat thermometers for a while and when I came across this I had to try it. It is easy to set up and use. The wireless readout makes it much handier and you don?? have to worry about running inside and overcooking your steak ad you can take it with you. If you want something easy to use and save you some steps while grilling I would recommend one of these.

  22. Stu_G

This is my second ThermoPro thermometer, and seriously, they are gamechangers. No need to go out and take the temperature of the pork shoulder or ribs or fish on the grill or the smoker. You can set the target temperature alarm and it alerts you when you’ve reached the internal temperature that you want. So, for an example, when my wife cooks salmon in the oven, more often than not it comes out a little dry (she doesn’t use my ThermoPro). When I smoke salmon, I use the thermometer and the salmon comes out juicy and awesome. I’m telling you, it is a total difference in how easy it is to get the temperature or doneness that you want. I can’t recommend this enough!!

  23. C. Dean

This device did everything I expected it to. It’s accurate at monitoring the temperature; it’s got two probes for use either in-something or to measure ambient temperature (and you can set hi and low alarms for that); the display is large, easy to read, and bright. The presets seem alright, and you can set your own temperature limits if you prefer. The timers (count down and count up) are useful and the timing accurate; and I had no problems whatsoever with reception for the receiver, even through multiple walls. The only thing of note is that the readings update every few seconds or so instead of very quickly, so if you’re trying to use this as an instant read thermometer — don’t. For anything else like baking/roasting/BBQ/smoking though? It’s wonderful. The cables on the probes are thin enough that you can close a BBQ lid or an oven door right over them without any problems; and the probes themselves are long enough to easily reach into deep cuts of meat or a large turkey. The packaging the unit comes in actually deserves a bit of a shout out as well, as it’s very tightly and securely packed into a minimal space that is great for storing the device, and each probe comes with a winder to keep them nice and neat to boot.I can honestly say that this a great product, and if you’re looking for a two-probe thermometer for use in a BBQ or the like, this is a good one to get.

I’ve been using the previous version of this ThermoPro for many years and it’s been the best thermometer I’ve ever used. It doesn’t have anything fancy like wifi or cloud abilities but those kind of thermometers aren’t necessarily the most reliable or easy to use. This ThermoPro is simple to use and it just plain works. For smoking, the double probes are fantastic as you can simultaneously monitor air temp and meat temp.PROS-The wireless range of this new version is improved over the previous version. You can walk around most of your house with the indoor unit without losing connection unless you have a very big house. I was able to get a signal over 100 feet away through multiple walls.-Build quality is very good. Both display units are made of solid plastic with nice rubbery grips. They each have a kickstand to stand them upright.-The 2 units instantly connect with each other when you turn them on. No need for pairing or anything like that.-This new version has upgraded temp probes. The probes are longer than before and they come with nice storage cases that you wrap the wire around.-Runs on easily replaceable alkaline batteries. My old version would have batteries last through at least 10x multi-hour smokes without needing replacement. I would just replace batteries once a year.CONS-The buttons and navigation aren’t all that intuitive as far as setting the desired target temps. It’s the exact same menu system as the previous version. Since I’ve been using the ThermoPro for years, I’m able to set temps fairly easily, but if you’re new, it might take some time to figure out.

The probes wouldn’t work or register temp.
